Companionship as you travel your Doula path - for new and experienced Doulas
As an experienced Birthworker, I recognise the importance of having a means of debriefing and reflecting on my experiences. These days I have a more informal network of support but when I was starting out I found the ongoing support of a mentor invaluable. I would encourage you to undertake some type of formal mentorship too.
I prefer not to use the word 'Mentor' to describe myself - I prefer to think of myself as a guide or coach, someone to walk alongside you as you travel the Doula path. If you choose to work with me, I will encourage you to explore your goals and open your mind and heart to birthwork! I'm not afraid to ask those difficult questions or to challenge your belief systems or biases.
With almost a decade of experience supporting a variety of births, I can offer you support and suggestions based on a wealth of knowledge of working with expectant families. I have worked both inside and outside of the system and have a good understanding of maternity policies, trust processes and the challenges that face Doulas everyday.
"IT'S YOUR ROAD, AND YOURS ALONE.
OTHERS MAY WALK IT WITH YOU,BUT NO-ONE CAN WALK IT FOR YOU."
I can support you if...
* You are a new Doula who did not train with Developing Doulas
* You do not wish to join Doula UK
* You are an existing Doula looking for adhoc or ongoing support
